Aeroflot bought 10 Boeing 777 aircraft from an Irish leasing company

Aeroflot has bought 10 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which have been under financial lease from an Irish leasing company since 2013 and 2014, and intends to continue working on further aircraft buyback deals.

The carrier announced this on Friday, December 30.

“The transaction was carried out as part of the execution of the order of the Government of the Russian Federation “On carrying out measures to settle legal relations with foreign lessors in order to ensure the transfer of ownership rights to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation” and taking into account all necessary permits of Russian and foreign regulators,” the message says.

Aeroflot stressed that it will continue to work on the purchase of aircraft in order to preserve the current foreign fleet and expand the possibility of operation. The company stated that this approach confirms the reliability of the carrier as a counterparty fulfilling its contractual obligations.
