The football associations of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland have applied to host the European Football Championship in 2028.
The bid includes 14 stadiums in 11 cities — Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Sunderland, Trafford, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff. In the future, the list will be reduced to 10 arenas.
The motto of the application is “Football for everyone. Football for good. Football for the future,” notes Sport-Express.
The elections of the countries that will hold the final stage of the Euro will be held in September 2023.
In addition to Great Britain and Ireland, Turkey submitted an application to host the tournament. In the past, she unsuccessfully tried to host the European Championship five times in a row.
