The official representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric called for compliance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, after a truck drove into the gates of the Russian Embassy in Ireland.
He stated this during a briefing broadcast by the UN press service.
“This is a standard position. The Vienna Convention must be respected, and we know that all host countries are doing everything in their power to do this,” Dujarric said.
The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations provides for the security of diplomatic missions.
